Job description

  • Ensuring that the Foot Patrol mandate is respected and maintained by all Foot Patrol members
  • Overseeing the entire scheduling of all shifts for all patrollers, dispatchers and drivers
  • Maintaining accurate statistics on usage of all aspects of the Foot Patrol’s services, including volunteer hours
  • The upkeep and maintenance of all Foot Patrol equipment
  • Being On-Call* during operational hours. *On-Call Duties entail being available to answer dispatcher calls/concerns
  • Holding disciplinary meetings as required
  • Writing the dispatcher announcements
  • Filling extra shifts when required
  • Assisting with volunteer applicant interviews as required
  • Holding regularly scheduled office hours
  • Contributing to the positive image of the SFUO
  • Other related duties


  • Bilingualism in both official languages of the University of Ottawa (an asset)
  • Must be a student at the University of Ottawa
  • Team Player
  • Good communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of available resources on campus
  • Having a good record with the Foot Patrol and having been on the service for four months is an asset

*** Knowledge of the SFUO, its services, businesses, clubs, associations and activities is an asset
