The Sustainable Development Centre is always looking for volunteers to help with our various environmental initiatives. Volunteers help us in organizing events, running campaigns, and brainstorming new ideas and methods to achieve our objectives. Get involved and meet great new friends!
As a drop-in centre, the Sustainable Development Centre exists to foster a community working towards sustainability and environmental justice at the University of Ottawa.
Sustainable Development Centre
Sustainable Development is a service of the SFUO responsible for overseeing environmental justice initiatives in our community. We aim to enhance environmental sustainability on campus through:
Skill building / Education
Action / Advocacy
We provide resources such as reusable dishes, water jugs, books, magazines and dvds, support listening, teachings and skills building on greener lifestyle and activism. Our campaigns focus around inclusivity, food sovereignty by creating alternatives, ethical investment and mental health.
Sustainability : it’s not just for the hipsters
People's Republic of Delicious
The People’s Republic of Delicious (PRD) is a campus group that offers healthy and affordable food
alternatives for the people at the University of Ottawa. Every Wednesday, we receive a donation of
cosmetically damaged food from a local grocer. The group then cooks it and offers a free vegan meal to
the campus community. Follow us on Facebook to keep up with the PRD or to get involved.
Meet some of the farmers who come to our markets! Video made by one of our lovely volunteers.
WE ARE CLOSED UNTIL AUGUST.
If you need assistance, please come and see the summer staff at the main SFUO office (07-UCU).
