How to Opt Out?

If you are covered by an equivalent insurance policy provided by your parents, guardian, employer, or spouse you can opt-out of the SFUO Health Plan. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Login to your InfoWeb page (https://web3.uottawa.ca/infoweb/logonPage.do).
  2. Select “Finances and Awards” from the left-hand side and it will display a drop-down menu.
  3. Select “Health Plan” from the drop-down menu and it will take you to a page displaying a notice from the insurance company.
  4. Read the notice and check the box “Yes, I have read and accept the conditions.” Click “Next Step” and you will be prompted to enter information regarding your equivalent insurance policy.
  5. If you would like to opt-out of both your Health and Dental insurance make sure to fill out both sections and check the “opt-out” box below each prompt. If you would only like to opt out of one of the insurances only fill out the appropriate prompt.
  6. When you are finished you will be provided with a confirmation number. Save this number for your personal records.
  7. A few days after opting-out you will see a credit for $180 on your student account.
