Information

This stream is dedicated primarily to the provision of academic training in both official languages and is targeted for Anglophone and Francophone clients who have limited knowledge of either English or French. The activities related to this stream are also suitable for allophones who have functional knowledge of one of the two official languages, and are designed to make language acquisition pleasant and stimulating.

In cooperation with the University, an information kit (to be revised annually) will be made available to students. This information kit will highlight the various linguistic and cultural learning opportunities offered to undergraduate students by the University of Ottawa. The Information stream will help individuals who wish to become bilingual by making the University’s resources more readily available to the student population. The students will master their second language through training received in discussion groups or other conversational activities. The Centre will also operate a buddy system that will pair Anglophones and Francophones in order to facilitate their second language acquisition.
