We opened in September 2006 and will start our fifth year this September.
Do I have to be poor to use the food bank?
We believe that it is better to prevent than to treat. If you are in a tight financial situation or if you can foresee that you will be shortly, we are there to help you out.
Who can use the SFUO Food Bank?
We focus on serving the University of Ottawa community, which includes students, alumni and employees of the university.
Where does the food come from?
The bulk of our supplies comes from the Ottawa Food Bank. We are a member agency and therefore receive deliveries every Wednesday. However, the deliveries alone are often not enough to meet the demand, so we also rely heavily on individual donations and food drives throughout the year.
